School Uniform

At Mexborough St John's we encourage our children to take pride in everything they do, including their appearance which is why we have a school uniform. We ask parents and carers to support us in implementing this dress code.

Autumn, Winter, Spring Uniform

  • Plain white school shirt

  • Grey V-necked sweatshirt or cardigan

  • Grey trousers or skirt

  • School tie

  • White, grey or black socks

  • Black shoes (if trainer style, no bright logos all black design)

Summer Uniform

  • White polo shirt

  • Grey shorts, skirt or blue and white checked pinafore dress

  • sensible sandals

For safety reasons we ask that children wear sensible shoes, not flip flops or shoes with a high heel. Please ensure that all items of clothing, including coats and shoes, are clearly labelled with your child’s name.

Ordering Uniform

There is no requirement for your child to wear uniform with the embroidered school logo. Plain uniform is acceptable and a popular choice. This can be purchased from most supermarkets. We also have a variety of good quality, second hand uniform that can be purchased from the school office or the 'friends of group' for a small donation. Alternatively, if you would would like to purchase uniform with the school logo please follow the link below:

School ties are available at the school office. We stock clip on ties and regular ties. Prices are:

- Clip on ties: £3.99

- regular ties: £3:15

PE and Games

For PE activities we ask that children wear black shorts, a white t-shirt and plimsolls or trainers. For outdoor PE in colder weather, tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirt are required, these should be kept in a small drawstring bag. If your child has long hair please ensure that they have a bobble to tie it back.

Jewellery, nail polish and make up

We would discourage children from wearing jewellery in school to prevent loss, damage or injury.  However, if children have pierced ears we ask that only studs are worn.  All jewellery, including stud earrings, must be removed before PE, swimming and any other sports or games activities.

Nail polish and make-up are not acceptable in school.
